Description
This old silo trio is found at a very rural cross road that I pass through almost every day and sometimes several times a day. I was always struck by the way all the overgrown shrubs and vines changed the look of the scene. I love the rustic color on the taller square with it's little square windows.. I don't know if it is still being used to store grain, but there are generally lots of tractors, farm implements and grain trucks parked there. I gave this version a wonderful painted effect for artistic interest. Wonderful for any wall in your home or office, or perhaps a greeting card. Many more wonderful works can be found in my various galleries, from photographs and photoart to digital creations and abstracts. Thanks for browsing, commenting and most of all for any purchases. Debbie Portwood :D........................................(Wikipedia - A silo (from the Greek siros, "pit for holding grain") is a structure for storing bulk materials. Silos are used in agriculture to store grain (see grain elevators) or fermented feed known as silage. Silos are more commonly used for bulk storage of grain, coal, cement, carbon black, woodchips, food products and sawdust. Three types of silos are in widespread use today - tower silos, bunker silos and bag silos.
